Saw the picture of C Unit , I was in C 24 on the ground floor.

Actually it was laid out in a rectangular form with a parade ground in the center and a running track around that. They called the track The Grinder ,we had to run it every morning before chow.It was a half mile.

The barracks ,drill hall, mess hall, sick bay etc. were laid out around the perimeter.

I remember my first night there ,3 other guys and myself became CO143's first swabbies. We spent an hour swabbing the floor of the head which had a sewer blockage.  We didn't get in the sack before lights out, so they had their volunteers!!!!
