I'm in my 81st year and can't remember where I left my toothbrush, but the past is coming in crystal clear. As transits we had to take salt water showers, as fresh water was limited. If you ever had a salt water shower and had to sleep in a hot room it's very unpleasant. The crews fresh water shower was near our area so I said to my buddy John, the crew comes to the shower with nothing but a towel and slippers. Whose to know transit from crew. That night and every night after, we stripped down, wrapped our towels around us and went to the crews shower. We got a few odd stares but we acted like we belonged and enjoyed the rest of the trip in style. irv 12-18-2007 |
